Who We Are!

To address the crucial needs that surround the Islamic education of our next generation, An-Noor Cultural Center was founded by Mufti Mohammed Ismail under the patronage of Mufti Muhammad Abdullah, who studied under the former principal of Darul Uloom Deoband, Mawlana Qari Muhammad Tayyib Sahib. Let us also not forget the efforts and sacrifices exhausted by Mufti Abdullah’s family. May Allah (ﷻ) accept their support and reward them in this world and the hereafter, Ameen!

The journey of An-Noor started with its cooperation approval on July 13th, 2012, as an independent, not-for-profit, cultural and educational institution. An-Noor initiated its services to the community on December 01, 2012. At that time An Noor only had a handful of students. After one decade, Alhamdulillah, there are now over 20 full-time Hifz students, about 10 'Aalim course students, and over 100 weekend students, while our after-school, online, and adult programs have surpassed 150 students.

Our Vision:
The vision of An-Noor Cultural Center is to develop the youth of today into leaders, model scholars, and dedicated workers of Deen. Through our programs, An-Noor aims to produce scholars who will join the ranks of the next generation of professional 'Ulama and Huffaz, who make a positive impact on their community.

Our Mission:
We at An-Noor hope to create a better future; a society made up of a diverse, but united Ummah of global citizens who are guided and grounded by the teachings of our Deen, InshaAllah.

An-Noor New Building Info

Assalamu Alaikum WRWB. We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you all. Our Masjid, An-Noor, is currently under contract to purchase a new four-story building in the heart of Jackson Heights on 37th avenue and 75th street. This building is over 10,000 square feet and consists of commercial space on the first two floors and 10 apartments on the top two floors. This is a significant step for our Masjid, as we have been at our current rental place for eight years. While we have appreciated our time there, we have been looking for a permanent location that we can call our own. This new building offers us the opportunity to create a space that truly meets the needs of our community and provides a stable foundation for our future growth and development. The new building is very accessible from trains, buses, and other modes of transportation. It will allow us to serve the people between 74th street and 95th, as there are no other masjids in this area. Moreover, this will be the largest capacity masjid in Jackson Heights, providing ample space for our growing community. This new space will have fantastic facilities for our community, especially our youth, kids, and sisters. We will have dedicated spaces for our children to learn and play. Our youth will have a safe and welcoming environment where they can socialize, learn, and grow together. And our sisters will have their own dedicated spaces where they can come together, pray, and engage in community activities. At An-Noor, we are committed to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for all members of our community. This new building offers us a unique opportunity to expand our offerings and better serve the needs of our community, both now and in the future. However, we cannot do this alone. We need your support and duaa to make this a reality. Your contributions, whether they be financial or through volunteering your time and skills, will make a significant difference in our ability to create a space that meets the needs of our community. We believe that by working together and with Allah Ta’ala's blessings, we can create a space that will serve our community for generations to come. We ask for your support and duaa as we move forward with this exciting new chapter for our Masjid and Islamic School. JazakAllahu Khairan, May Allah reward you in this world and the hereafter. Ameen.
